2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe Updates and Specs
Is bigger always better? When it comes to luxury, we say yes! As we welcome the new 2018 E-Class coupe to the Mercedes-Benz lineup, let’s take a look at how it’s been improved upon for next year in terms of style, technology, and mechanics.
The most notable difference on the 2018 E-Class coupe is the increase in cabin size. About five inches longer, three inches wider, and an inch-and-a-half taller than the outgoing model, the new E-Class coupe has a more assertive stance that commands attention. Mercedes also expanded the wheelbase of E-Class coupe from 108.7 inches to 113.1 inches, making it closer in size with the E-Class sedan, which got similar size update in 2017.
Thanks to the E-Class coupe’s cabin expansion, Mercedes-Benz had more room to install a better lineup of interior technology. The new standard 12.3-inch high-resolution infotainment display comes equipped with its signature COMAND system, which stands for Cockpit Management and Data system. Along with the larger display comes a second 12.3-inch widescreen display that is available as an instrument cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also featured on the E-Class Coupe.
The 2018 E-Class coupe comes available in either a rear-wheel or Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel drive format, both mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The new E-Class coupe has a V-6 engine and standard lowered suspension with selective damping, but the available multi-chamber air suspension allows the driver to adjust suspension, throttle, and transmission settings through five distinct driving modes: comfort, eco, sport, sport+ and individual.
